Call To Order
 |
Called to order at
7:30PM by Joe
Leaptrott.
|
 |
Pledge of
Allegiance led by Joe
Leaptrott. |
 |
The treasurer's
report was presented by Gerry Lukach. |
Old Business
 |
Joe Leaptrott said
that he had recently talked to Dick McEachin. Dick said that even
though he's now living in another town, he'll continue his radio
commentary on the local radio station, and will continue to include
spots for the radio club. |
 |
Joe also mentioned
that we could bring radios to the April cookout, to be photographed
for the on-line virtual museum. Andy Rood said that he would send
out an email, asking for radio pictures with an accompanying story. |
 |
Joe also suggested
that for our club project, we could perhaps obtain a radio that
would require the different talents of different club members in
order to restore. For example, one person to restore the
electronics, another to restore the finish, etc. Phil Baker asked
if an email could be sent out asking if anyone had such a radio to
donate. |
New Business
 |
David Moody stated
that we could possibly secure on advertising spot on the "First
Coast Connect" show on WJCT, 89.9 FM. He said that he would call to
inquire. |
Publicity Report
 |
There was no
publicity report, as Sean Olin was away on business. |
Show and Tell
 |
Andy Rood brought
a 1987 Sangean multi-band radio. |
 |
Phil Baker brought
a Sony reel-to-reel tape recorder, that he had used to record
conversations from 10-meter band ham radio. |
 |
Joe Leaptrott
brought pictures of equipment, and asked if anyone knew what it
was. Bill Zaiser said that it looked like some sort of business
class communications equipment. Joe also mentioned that on Ebay,
someone is selling a more modern-design replacement power supply for
Trans-Oceanic radios. He talked about a finishing product that he
had found, consisting of tung oil, linseed oil, and japan driers,
and also about products that can help repair rotted wood. |
 |
Phil Bliss mentioned that he coats rotted wood
with Super Glue, which also yield good results. |
